The January 14, 1999 Meeting
by Chris Bordwine, Secretary
Our first regular meeting of 1999 was on a wet, rainy night. Thirteen members were present and one guest, Mitch Byerly, a Master Technician at Alleys Jaguar. We enjoyed having Mitch with us.
Our President, Richard Williams, encouraged members to help come up with ideas for presentations for our meetings. Several members have had ideas for "field trips". Richard encouraged them to get them set up. One idea I liked was meeting at a drive-in theater.
Allen Calcote mentioned that Jean Boyd had some die cast models of Triumphs left over after closing her shop. Herren Floyd stated that Bubba Mattery in Greenville has these models, now. If you are interested in these call toll-free at (877) 874-1470.
We viewed a very interesting video on the development of the E-Type Jaguar courtesy of Richard Williams. This film discussed the SS-90, SS-100, XK-120, C-Type, D-Type, XK-SS, XK-140, XK-150 and E-Type models. After the film, our guest Mitch, discussed some of the modifications made to Jag racing engines.
Our meeting ended with Dick Williams asking "When is our next drive?" Dick must have 'cabin fever' already!
